Seven Tools In One App

Syllables, Sounds, Naming and Ask are free for everyone. Allophones, Sentence Transcription and DF Analysis open for any student who has paid for a course, online or in our physical classes.

Built On A Real Dictionary

Every result comes from the Adroit Tutors pronunciation dictionary, with British phonemic, British phonetic and American transcriptions for over ten thousand words. The same dictionary powers our Transcription Dictionary, so a word looks the same in both places.

Questions Students Ask

Is the Phonology app free?
Syllables, Sounds, Naming and Ask are free for everyone, with no account needed. Allophones, Sentence Transcription and DF Analysis open for any student who has paid for a course, online or physical, in full or in instalments.
Can I install the app on my phone?
Yes. Open the app in your phone browser and choose Add to Home Screen or Install App. It then opens like any other app and works offline for the parts you have used.
Which accent does the app use?
You can switch between British (UK) and American (US) at the top of the app. British transcriptions follow the standard Received Pronunciation conventions used in Nigerian universities.
